NikahMe

Terms of Service

Version 1.4-2026-07-27 · Effective July 27, 2026 · อ่านภาษาไทย

This is the agreement between you and us, the people running NikahMe. We have tried to write it as readably as a document like this allows. Ticking the box at sign-up, or continuing to use the service, means you agree to all of it. If any part doesn't sit right with you, don't sign up yet — write to us first.

1. Words used in this document

  • A “user” is someone who registers an account and uses NikahMe.
  • A “coordinator” is a person you choose yourself to help coordinate contact with the other party. They do not work for us, and we do not vouch for them.
  • “Layer 1 (L1)” is your summarized introduction, converted into ranges and categories such as age range and region, shown to others before any detail is.
  • “Layer 2 (L2)” is the detail that opens to a counterpart only after both sides accept the exchange request.
  • An “exchange request” is a request to get acquainted, sent from one side to the other. If it isn't accepted within 7 days it simply expires.

2. Who may use this

By registering, you confirm that

  • You are at least 18 years old on the day you register.
  • You are here to genuinely seek a spouse for marriage according to Islamic principles, not for anything else.
  • What you enter is true, and you will keep it current.
  • One person, one account. You are not registering for someone else or pretending to be someone else.
  • We have not previously suspended you for breaking these rules, unless we have agreed in writing to your return.

3. What this service is, and is not

NikahMe is an introduction system for Muslims seeking marriage. It discloses information one layer at a time (L1 first, then L2, then a contact channel) and routes contact through a coordinator you choose yourself. It is not a dating app, not a matchmaking service that guarantees results, and we are not religious or legal advisers.

We are still in a limited testing phase (closed beta). Features may change, appear, disappear, or pause. Where a change genuinely affects you, we will try to say so in advance.

4. Our limits, stated plainly

We want these understood from the start.

  • We cannot certify anyone's status as a walī. Coordinators here are people you chose and trust yourself; judging their suitability is up to you and your family.
  • We do not verify the identity, history, or status of every user. Profiles contain what each person entered themselves. Any badge in the system covers only what that badge's description says it covers.
  • Who you get to know, meet, or marry is a decision for you and your family. Please always verify facts yourself.
  • Agreements or relationships formed between users, or with a coordinator, are between you. We are not a party to them and take no responsibility for them.

5. Your account

  • Keep your password safe. Whatever happens through your account counts as your doing.
  • If you suspect someone else has gotten in, tell us right away at the email at the end of this document.
  • Accounts cannot be transferred, sold, or lent to anyone.

6. The rules

Things you must not do here:

  • Lie about, or conceal, anything material — such as your current marital status.
  • Impersonate anyone, or create fake accounts.
  • Use the system for anything other than seeking marriage — selling, advertising, scamming, or pursuing relationships outside the framework of marriage.
  • Harass, threaten, or behave improperly toward other users or coordinators.
  • Take another person's information seen through the system — such as L2 data or a contact channel — and publish it, pass it around, or use it outside marriage-oriented acquaintance without their consent.
  • Break into the system, scrape data, or interfere with the service.
  • Use the service in ways that break Thai law, or that clearly contradict the Islamic principles this place exists for.

Break any of these and we may suspend or close your account immediately. Where damage is done, we reserve the right to take legal action.

7. What you enter

What's in your profile stays yours. You are simply allowing us to store, process, and display it as needed for the system to work, within the disclosure layers you set (details are in the Privacy Policy). The accuracy of what you enter is your responsibility.

8. Layered disclosure and exchange requests

  • L1 data (summarized into ranges and categories) is shown to others through the channels you enable — an introduction card, or the discovery feed if you opt in.
  • L2 data opens to a counterpart only after both sides accept the exchange request.
  • Contact channels open by the system's steps, through the coordinator you set up.
  • A request not accepted within 7 days expires on its own. Sending one gives no one any claim over anyone.
  • Once information has been shown to the other side, we cannot technically stop them from noting or remembering it. What still protects you are the rules in Section 6 and personal data protection law, which continue to bind the recipient.

9. Suspension and closing accounts

  • You can close your profile or ask us to delete your account at any time, via settings or our email.
  • We may suspend or close an account when there is reason to believe the rules were broken, misconduct has been reported, or it is necessary for others' safety. We will explain as much as we can without compromising a review.
  • If suspended, you can appeal through the channel in the system. We consider appeals in good faith and tell you the outcome as appropriate.
  • After an account closes, its data is handled per the retention periods in the Privacy Policy.

10. Intellectual property

NikahMe's software, design, logo, and text (excluding what users enter) belong to us or our licensors. Please do not copy, modify, or use them commercially without written permission.

11. What we cannot promise

  • The service is provided “as is”, especially during the beta. We cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or fit for every purpose.
  • We cannot guarantee you will find a spouse or get married. That is beyond our hands.
  • To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage from using, or being unable to use, the service — including damage caused by other users or coordinators.
  • Nothing here excludes liability that Thai law does not allow to be excluded, such as our own willful misconduct or gross negligence.

12. Responsibility for your actions

If your breaking of these rules, of the law, or of someone's rights through the service leads to claims against us or costs for us, you agree to bear that, including reasonable legal fees.

13. When these terms change

We may revise this document from time to time. For material changes we will notify you through the system or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after a new version's effective date means accepting it. The current version and effective date are always shown on this page.

14. Governing law and general points

  • This document is governed by Thai law; disputes go to the Thai courts.
  • If any clause turns out unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
  • Us not enforcing a clause at some moment does not mean we have waived it.
  • The Thai version is the authoritative one; the English version is for convenience. Where they differ, the Thai version prevails.
